Lower lash extension

Eyelash extensions are one of the most popular cosmetic treatments around the world, giving women gorgeous and highlighted lashes without requiring much maintenance. However, many clients are not aware that extensions can be attached not only to the upper lashes, but the lower lashes as well.

There are many benefits to bottom eyelash extensions, as they perfectly complement upper lash extensions, creating a consistent look. Together, a full set of extensions can dramatically increase the volume of the lashes and can be fitter perfectly with both everyday makeovers and those for special occasions.

Lower eyelash extensions - why are they worth it?

While the bottom lashes are generally thinner, shorter, and less noticeable than the upper lashes, bottom lash extension treatment can easily open up your client’s eyes without making them look fake. Sometimes, especially if your client’s lashes are thin and short, extending only the upper lashes can create an imbalance.

To avoid that, it is often recommended that clients also get matching bottom eyelash extensions - creating a harmonious look. The additional length offered by lash extensions on bottom lashes can also effectively help slim the faces of your clients,

Lower eyelash extensions are affordable, often much cheaper than upper eyelash extensions. The procedure takes less time than upper lashes, as there often is no reason to attach extensions to each and every natural eyelash. A skilled stylist can easily do both upper and lower eyelash extensions within one visit, which can save a lot of time for the stylist and for the clients.

The big advantage of 1: 1 eyelashes is that due to their characteristics, you don't need to use mascara. A full look will allow your clients to have perfect eyes during the entire day, without having to apply any makeup in the morning and to wash it down in the evening.

How does a bottom lash extension treatment look like?

An experienced stylist can easily finish a bottom eyelash extension procedure in about thirty minutes. However, the duration of the procedure usually does not exceed an hour and changes based on your client and your own skills. Whether you are a professional beautician or just a beginner, the treatment looks the same.

Before you begin the treatment, make sure your tools and your workplace is clean and sterile. Start by cleaning your client’s face. Even if they do not have any makeup on, use a professional face cleaner to gently cleanse the skin.

After you are done with cleaning, apply pads on the eyelid directly underneath the lower eyelashes. By doing that, you will protect your client’s skin from substances such as eyelash adhesive or glue remover.

If your client’s upper lashes have been already extended, gently tape them back to protect them from damage and interfering in the treatment. During all of this part, your client’s eyes need to be closed.

After the bottom lashes are secured, clean them thoroughly with a professional eyelash cleaner. An eyelash cleaner removes flaked epidermis and sebum that might not be visible to the naked eye, preparing the eyelashes to take on the adhesive and increasing the bond’s strength. Choose a matching pair of extensions, based on your client’s natural eyelashes, whether they have upper extensions or not, and on their preference. The most popular extensions are of either B or C curl, with thickness either 0,07mm, 0,10mm, and 0,12mm, a length between 3 and 7 mm.

Now is the time to use the adhesive. Place it on a jade stone or a special stand before applying it to the eyelashes. Using tweezers, place the extensions on the lashes, half of a millimetre away from the base.
